O-Line by Herbert Ohl (1926-2012) for Wilkhahn

After he studied architecture in Karlsruhe, Ohl worked with Egon Eiermann till 1954. Untill 1956 Ohl worked as an architect at the University Hospital in SaarbrŸcken, and after that as a freelance designer and architect in in Ulm, Germany

Herbert Ohl was a lecturer at departments building at the Hochschule fur Gestaltung Ulm (HfG Ulm) and member of the board (1955-1968). In 1968 he moved to Milan were he worked together with the Italian architect Gino Valle. He also worked as on several projects for Fiat but also for several furniture companies such as Brionvega , Arflex and Matteograssi. For Fantoni Ohl designed a office-desk system ( now part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York), In 1982 his O-Line chair was introduced by the German furniture company Wilkhahn
