"This Lamp is not a Chair" was inspired on the Spectrum SE82 Chair designed by Martin Visser in 1960. For the production of the lamp, the Wenge wood from the SE82 is used. That wood is a very beautiful and durable material with a specific pattern.
The idea is that wood always is a new or always is an old material when being used for a product. It takes many years for a tree to grow before it gets cut and used for a piece of furniture. So when the chair is considered old, and it's construction is weakened or it is just out of fashion, the Wenge wood used for the chair just has past a couple more years. It serves a new design, a new product.
"This Lamp is not a Chair" has 4 candle lamps of each 15Watt.
